    The saphires in the Louvre were the personal jewels of the Orleans family.
    These earrings belongued to the state crown jewels collection sold in 1887. They were bought by Germain Bapst, a french jeweller who probably sold later the lower part to prince Ferdinand of Bulgaria, a grand-son of king Louis-Philippe. In 1931 they were offered to princess Isabelle of Orleans-Braganca when she married prince Henri in Palermo. The comtesse de Paris has worn them sometimes with the necklace now in the Louvre in the 70's.
    It's now her grand-son prince Jean who owns them.
