Thank you Martina for bringing this suject to discussion, this tiara has puzzled me for some time.
I would not say this is one of my favourite tiaras. I find it too narrow for its hight, but certainly it has a quite peculiar design, and I don't remember any similar tiaras being worn in events in present times.
However I've seen pre first world war pictures of german noble ladies wearing similar desingns. I have no expert knowledge on history of jewelry design but could this be an early XX or late XIX century piece? I have no clue...
