I used to rely a lot on memory but it gets too much - and it is too easy to include the "speculations" that arise without realising.
I too am planning a record of the jewels as I encounter them in "the book", and with source noted. It can then be expanded as more info turns up.
As far as I am concnered, the book will mark an important point in time. I might use bQD and aQD !!
