Even though Queen Mary's pearl stomacher is not featured in the book, the foot notes on the page for the Lover's Knot Tiara give it's history. The stomacher originally belonged to Princess Mary, Duchess of Gloucester. In her will she left it to her niece Princess Mary Adelaide, Duchess of Teck. It is unclear if Queen Mary inherited it from her mother, or acquired it some other way. Six of the drop pearls were borrowed for use in The Lover's Knot Tiara, and were apparently returned to the stomacher at a later date.
