I remember reading something about how the Queen early on met with Kate to pick out some jewelry for the Canadian trip (the maple leaf brooch most notably). It seems as if the Duchess is being assisted very gradually and thoroughly into these special and official occasions, and the Jubilee is certainly a big one (and one of the first for her). There is probably a very deliberate path being trod here . . .

Now, we can also wait for the first post-wedding "tiara occasion". I wonder if CP Mary is giving her helpful hints (like hairstyles and new ways to wear these important jewels).

: I believe that there is no use trying to
: speculate which brooch it is when all we
: have is a fairly poor quality close-up; and
: countless brooches to speculate about,
: owning to the Windsor's huge collection.

: As no information was released about the
: brooch from St. James's Palace, all we can
: hope is that HRH will wear it again at some
    : point in the future.

: The only thing I will say, is that this is
: promising that HRH is starting to wear
: jewellery for important occasions now; which
: bodes well for us jewellery spotters in the
    : future.

: I found this site in some research and I
: mentions Kate's brooch as being borrowed
: from the Queen. Go to the 10th picture and
: it mentions Queen's Amethyst Bouquet Brooch.
: Now whether it's true or not I don't know
: but that is what the brooch remainded me of.
