    Cartier? Archived Message

Thank you, Lorenzo. I had 'cleaned' it by myself and put it as transparent layer of the picture of the belgium bandeau. The similarities are enormous, so that is hard to believe itīs not Cartier. Then again is Dmitryīs comment quiet right. It seems not to have the same elegance as the 'original'.
Interestingly Christieīs didnīt called it a Cartier piece. If it had a mark they would have done it, wouldnīt they?
    So I have two hypotheses:
1)Itīs a Cartier piece. Either from the stock respectively made from a blueprint of the catalog. The differences results of the wishes of the customes, the time of production, the available stones. That means also that itīs not a exclusive design for Queen Elisabeth.
    2) Itīs not a Cartier piece, but a copy by an other jeweler. Why wasting so much craftmanship, money and effort for a copy?? It cannot be a cheap rip-off regarding the estimation of Christieīs.
At the moment I tend to the first one.
