Perhaps courtesy titles was the incorrect term, they are however lesser titles, bestow upon them as social tradition within the Royal family that British royals should also have peerages.
But my point was that their peerage titles are lesser titles compared to that of their royal titles, they rank higher as Princes of the United Kingdom than they do as Dukes of Earls - thus they wear the Princes coronet, not the Duke or Earls coronet, which was my main point.
