These peridots (IIRC from the French Crown Jewels, I might be wrong, but they have royal provenance) were sold at Christie's Geneva for $ 159'000.00 in Mai 2012. They belonged to the philantropist Lily Safra and were auctioned in the "Jewels for Hope" auction. The whole proceed (more than $ 37 Mio.!!) went to charities! .

If these jewels look familiar to you, the brooch is pictured on the dustjacket of the wonderful book "Understanding Jewellery" by Daniela Mascetti & David Bennet.

: I thought it may be the case. Thanks for
: including that one picture of peridots,
: Nellie! So we will wait for a banner
: showing September sapphires, then, cuz many
: royals certainly wear/wore them in the
    : jewelry!

: It's the middle of August now. I was waiting
: to see for a while if anyone would plan to
: put up a new banner to showcase the
    : peridot...the birthstone of this month....or
: does that mean there's hardly any picture of
: any royal wearing peridot jewelry? Just
    : curious.
