    I'm no gemologist, but try as I might I can't find any images online of emeralds with such a dark hue. Even the poorest quality emeralds I've seen in cheap stores here in the USA have a lively green color. There IS another photo we've seen on this board and others where the Franco gift is worn in it's crown configuration with very green, emerald like stones. Likewise, there is an image of her with very bright red ruby-like stones.

    I think these are onyx, jet or black coral? Why not she already had aquamarine, ruby (?) and emerald (?) stones to interchange. If I were her, I would have acquired turquoise and opal too!

    As for this green stone necklace, I like it. It's very unique and I suspect it is not an inexpensive piece. Perhaps one of those lovely green stones surrounded by their diamonds could be detached and worn as a brooch.
