    I have always felt that Alexandra never aspired to accumulating jewels.
    She had enough to appear perfectly grand and regal for occasions warranting that.

    There is the theory that her mother left her jewels to her sons assuming her daughter would be provided for by the family she married into.



    As bridesmaid at the wedding of Elizabeth and Philip
