The design of the necklace is surprisingly modern, I think. The repeated sweep (is that what one would call it in English?) without variations and distracting additions is somewhat remotely reminiscent of the design of the Duchess of Edinburgh's Bolin ruby necklace, without getting near its quality. Still, an interesting piece, but less than successful as a tiara IMO. Since the sweep motif of both earrings have the same direction, I assume they were initially parts of the necklace?
