Exactly. I doubt she was or will be given such a generous scoop of the family jewels. We can speculate all we want but history tells us we should not expect too much.
--Previous Message-- : I read that the Duchess was given the option : to choose several (two or three) tiara's : from HM's collection before her marriage. So : i hope she opted for the Saphire bandeau of : Maria Feodorovna and possibly the diamond : and pearl necklace/tiara of Queen Mary as : her second and third options. The three : would make a handsome set of jewels for the : Duchess in years to come. However it was a : newspaperarticle (don't remember the : publication) so im not sure she really has : been given that many pieces. Considering : that the countess of Wessex (a dearly : beloved daughter-in-law) has not received : that many pieces. : : --Previous Message-- : The sapphire tiara of Queen Alexandra's : younger sister Empress Marie Feodorovna : would indeed be a great choice for The : Duchess of Cambridge to wear. : Personally, I never cared much for the : Cartier tiara - partly just a matter of own : taste, but perhaps also because it was : originally meant to be worn at a 'halo' : angle and gives a somewhat dim impression : when worn in the regular tiara manner. : The sapphire tiara on the other hand strikes : me as charming and elegant as well as : substantial enough without being : overpowering in size; IMHO, one of the most : desirable Windsor pieces to see the light of : day again. : : : : : : --Previous Message-- : I'm hoping for the sapphire bandeau worn by : Queen Mary and Princess Margaret- perhaps : with some of Princess Diana's sapphire : jewellery? : : --Previous Message-- : We all know about reliableness of press : article but for this is an official : commonwealth visite gala events are very : likely. So if there is a glittering evening : in Malaysia perhaps HM have opted for : something more representativ and the halo : tiara is not one of her favourite, although : is suits the DCam very well. If I had to put : on one IŽd choose a fringe. : : --Previous Message-- : : I agree with John R. I think the Halo : tiara will be the choice for Catherine if : it's decided she should bring a tiara along. : I wouldn't be surprised if the Queen would : lend a couple of brooches to Catherine as : she did with the Maple Leaf brooch. : --Previous Message-- : Let us not forget that she is 'merely' the : spouse of the heir to the heir. A whopper : tiara at this time seems highly unlikely. : The halo - which is a very appropriate tiara : for her - would look stunning on her with : the right hairdo. : : --Previous Message-- : : I hope she gets a more substantial tiara. : The one she wore for her wedding was nice : but not for a grand affair. : --Previous Message-- : Duchess Catherine's Cartier Halo tiara..... : : : : will have quite a long way to go to match : the magnificent parure of the Sultan of : Malaysia's wife...... : : : : The royal families of Asia have some : stunning jewels in their possession. : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
