Mr. Lowther-Pinkerton is always called Jamie. It is evidently his given name. He's been with the princes and now the Duchess for a long time as their chief adviser. Oviously he is much more than a flunky. He is also a friend, and his son was a page in the Cambridges' wedding. There was recently a photo of Mr. Pinkerton escorting the Duchess into the Paralympics arena to meet the Duke for the opening. This extremely detailed and authoritative itinerary strikes me as a statement of considerable independence from the Prince of Wales and his advisers, though it necessarily appears on his web site. It also reflects a great deal of work to arrange a smoothly functioning tour that takes into account the special interests of the Duke and Duchess, as well as their responsiblity to represent Britain and the Queen. Edit: With reference to the subject of this thread, my guess is that, given the part of the world they are visiting and the kinds of dinners they will attend, the Duchess will wear at least one tiara. Her wedding tiara would be a very safe bet.
