    It's been pretty well established recently that an alternate circlet made for Queen Alexandra went to Queen Maud. As you can see in Nellie's illustration, the QV circlet with its crosses and fleur de lys still exists, without the diamonds, which went to the Queen Mother's crown in 1937. Since Queen Maud wore her circlet at that coronation, without the fleur de lys, parts of both circlets were present at the same time. I believe the frame of Queen Victoria's circlet, with its case, has now gone to the Royal Collection from the London Museum where it had been displayed.
