Re: Princess Charlene: 'Ocean' earrings Archived Message

I did not deslike the piece worn as necklace, it created an impressive looking necklace, but I must say I prefer more classical designs. However I've seen really worst (and pretty much unwearable) modern designs than this one.
Besides, Pss Charlene wore the necklace as single piece of jewelry, with no earrings (not these ones...) to make the look more complete. I felt that definately there was something missing there.

And I agree with you by not having that much expectations on how it will look as tiara. Given the fact that, in my opinion, Pss Carlene is not a jewelry loving lady, I think she will only wear it as tiara to an international grand tiara event that the Pc and Pss of Monaco are invited to somewhere in the future, because I don't think the Principality has that much tiara events.
Some scandinavian celebration in years to came perhaps...

: I thought I was the only one not liking the
: tiara. There is something about the design
: proportions that look off to me and even
: though diamonds and sapphires are beautiful
: together, the tiara seems to appear flimsy
: on the frame. The tiara as a necklace was a
: bit better, but it still looks odd to me.

: I have to agree. Not impressed with the
    : design
: and execution. The v shaped design never
: works for me and these swirls and all these
: whiter than white diamonds of equal size
: with masses of small sapphires makes it even
: less appealing to me. The earrings? In one
: word: odd. I suspect the tiara does not look
: good on her. As a necklace it did not match
: or complement the wearer either. Keep it on
: display as a nice work of craftsmanship and
: a reminder that that alone does not make a
    : stunning piece of jewellery.

: I have the faint idea that the tiara with
    : its
: subtle sapphires in the swirling 'wave'
: motif might actually look very appealing,
: but since the piece was only worn once as
: necklace so far, the idea of how it looks as
    : tiara remains faint indeed.
: While I like the idea of long, dangling
: earrings, their bottom-heavy pendulum design
: does not echo the tiara in the best fashion,
    : I'd say...
: Princess Letizia and Princess Charlene seem
: determined to compete in setting the record
: of who leaves a new tiara unworn the longest
: - one gathers dust in the vaults, the other
: is permanently on display, and both facts
    : are decidedly absurd.
: I just hope that whoever owns the Swedish
: pink tormaline tiara now will not join this
    : contest.

: This tiara doesn't look like much. It looks
: rather 'cheap' like those worn by pageant
    : winners.

    : I agree!

: At the opening of the Van Cleef & Arpels
: exhibition in Paris last night, Princess
: Charlene wore for the first time (as far as
: I know) earrings matching the motif of her
: ‘Ocean’ tiara, which is on display:
    :
: This tiara seems to exist only from within
    : display windows.
    :
: Not a fan of the earrings, but then again,
: the design of the tiara doesn't impress me
    : either.
    :
: From a distance it looks lovely but it's
: design is much too modern for my taste.
