Unfortunately it was just a collection of photos of the Egyptian RF jewels, but not many information on them. I will look more to find more information and post them, if I find something. --Previous Message-- : Thank you Carlo for posting all the lovely : photos and reposting my cropped image of my : favorite Khedive tiara : : I always thought of "swirls" as : eternity symbol...and I just searched and : found the definition of Egyptian swirls, : which is the universal pattern of growth and : evolution...in this case, when it was : presented to CP Margaret during her wedding, : I believe that symbolically it meant : "Eternal love"...it is beautifully : designed tiara by Cartier. : : Can you tell me who designed the 1st tiara : you posted? The swirls are flipped and the : overall heavy look of the tiara gives me : impression that it might not be Cartier. : : : : --Previous Message-- : We all know that the Khedivé of Egypt gave : the : Cartier tiara to Princess Margaret of : Connaught on her wedding to the Prince : Gustaf Adolf of Sweden. : : I recently bought the fabulous DVD in two : episodes about the Royal Jewels of Denmark, : Sweden, Russia and Great Britain and I : followed once more the story of this tiara, : very interesting. : : The pattern of the tiara must have a : significance for Egyptian culture or : religion, because I found a photo of a jewel : of the Egyptian RF with the same motif. : : Here is the jewel from the Egyptian RF : collection: : : : Here is the Khedivé of Egypt Cartier tiara: : : : : : : : :
