    I checked the New York Times archives but did not get much out of it re: either Helen of Romania (later Queen of Greece) or Queen Marie of Romania.

    I usually turn to the Library of Congress newspaper collection for any information but this collection currently only covers newspapers from the 1820s through 1922 only. Marie of Romania as you said was in the United States in 1926. The newspaper collection stops at 1922. I guess it may be because people who were born in the 1920s and second half of 1900s are still alive today. Maybe the Library will add to that collection the later newspaper reports some day in the future.

    Similar to the idea when each decade of the U.S. Census records would not be open to the public for 75 years. The 1940 Census just recently became accessible. And the 1950 Census will not be opened until 2025.
