I agree. The Belgians are the proof that it is very well possible to purchase beautiful jewelry. The Prince of Orange did the same with the tutti-frutti set, which was bought at auction.
The Duke of Parma, his brother and his youngest sister (married into the richest family of the Netherlands) are participants in the Lys Fund, a special foundation set up to manage the inherited capital. Apparently Princess Margarita does no longer participate in that Fund, probably a tactical manoeuvre to prevent that she has to upkeep her former husband Edwin de Roy van Zuydewijn. In short: if the Duke wants, he can buy a wonderful diadem, no problem.
