Thank you John R. Very well spotted! Blurry as the picture may be, it appears to be a 10 pointed star. Thus making it one of the stars from the other set of 5 diamond stars and the ones used for princess Máxima's wedding tiara.
It still feels odd, that a great admirer of jewelry like queen Juliana has never worn at least one of the 12 pointed diamond stars now seen on princess Máxima. For me the mystery remains...
--Previous Message-- : Actually I believe Queen Wilhelmina might have : worn this one (now apparently from a set of : 3) on her sash for her 40 years reign : portrait. : : Queen Wilhelmina 1938 : : : : --Previous Message-- : Good point ErikS! There seems to be a lot of : confusing about the origins of Máxima's star : brooches. If I am not mistaken there are no : images of queens Juliana and Beatrix wearing : these particular stars. : : Since 2002 Máxima has at first been wearing : only one star at the wedding of Frederik and : Mary. Posters on this board have commented : there being sightings of Máxima wearing two : stars a few years back. And all of a sudden : there are three stars! : : That's why I have the idea the star from : Simons Juweliers might have been bought by : Willem-Alexander. : : --Previous Message-- : That's very interesting, Steven, and very : well : spotted. Looking through the Simons : catalogues gives many interesting results : when it comes to new jewellery being worn by : the Orange ladies. : : I'm not sure though. It's not as if the : collection needs even more stars and the : catalogue lists only 1 star brooch, right? : The fact is that many many star brooches : exist and are available on the market. : : I'm curious for the input of other people. : : : : : :
