Today I went to Apeldoorn to see the Wilhelmina exhibit. On one of the walls the official photo of the birthday dinner was enormously enlarged. You may call me crazy, but I thought to see in it a part of the sapphire tiara and to be honest, sapphire would make much more sense with the color of the dress. --Previous Message-- : Yes! thanks for posting it. To me it's clear : the necklace is from the emerald parure and : the brooch is the emerald brooch with the : pearl drop. The central piece of the tiara : resembles the brooch of the emerald parure : but the rest doesn't look like the tiara of : the emerald parure. : : --Previous Message-- : You mean this photo? : : : --Previous Message-- : One of the very few formal events Wilhelmina : attended after her abdication was the : government dinner for the 18th birthday of : her eldest granddaughter Beatrix. : There are several pictures of her dressed in : an eveninggown, the necklace of the emerald : parure and the brooch with the central : emerald and the pearl drop. In her hair she : has a tiara. I can recognise the brooch of : the emerald parure as the central part but i : don't know what the rest of the tiara is. : Any idea's? : : : : :
