One of the most famous 'twins' you mentioned is the Spanish aquamarines tiara, quite ugly and disproportioned originally IMHO, but very beautiful after the remounting ordered by HRH the Infanta Beatriz, Princess Torlonia, inspired by the GD Vladimir tiara of the British RF.
