Yes indeed, a couple of years the two Princesses wore 'only' brooches or diamond rivières as hair ornaments for the King's Nobel dinner.
There is no 'tradition' for the six or four rosette tiaras to be worn by CP Victoria at the Nobel ceremony, maria-olivia.
But I must say that I do miss seeing the Baden Fringe tiara on Victoria; ever since the Nobel ceremony 2001, she has worn it exclusively, and along with the cut steel tiara, it's IMHO the tiara from the Bernadotte collection which flatters her face shape most.

: Yes, I'm sure Victoria likes that new cut
: steel tiara. She already seemed to like the
: old cut steel tiara very much. Now she has
: made this one "her own", something
: no other Princess has outed before her.
: Imo the wedding in Luxembourg was a really
: good occasion for the outing of a tiara we
: haven't seen before. And let's face it: the
: King's Dinner one day after the Nobels is
: always far more low profile than the Award
: Ceremony itself. For some years we even saw
: necklaces and brooches instead of real
: tiaras worn by the two sisters.
