From "El Paso Herald" (Texas) dated February 2, 1914.
The article mentioned the visit to Panama Canal (and the return trip home) of Princess Marie Louise (granddaughter of Queen Victoria). She was a guest of Colonel and Mrs. George W. Goethals on that trip to the Panama Canal. Anyway, the article contained the picture mistakenly assisted (it seems) to Marie Louise when the lady in the picture does not look like Marie Louise, so I looked up google images and found a similar picture which said it was Marie Louise's mother Princess Helena Victoria (daughter of Queen Victoria) instead.
So the lady in this picture below was definitely Princess Helena, Princess Christian of Schleswig-Holstein. Please note her choker. Is this choker still owned by any of her direct descendants today? Princess Helena Victoria strongly resembled both her mother and her oldest brother, King Edward VII.
This is the Google Image picture of the same lady who was mentioned to be Princess Helena Victoria, daughter of Queen Victoria. Does it appear she was wearing some diamond stars in her hair?
