Thanks for those pics. At first I thought they were different, but after looking at pics I have I think they are the same.
I had never noticed the prongs until looking at your pic. I had always thought they were emerald cabachons with top mounts, but now I realize there are prongs from the back of the stones.
As you can see from this series of British Pathe stills, the emeralds look wider from the sides than in the front view.
The only time I recall seeing the Queen wearing them was for this portrait by James Lloyd.
On both the final version (detail, left) and the working sketch (right) the prongs are also evident.
