Lorenzo, thank you for the picture.

P.S.: According to Norbert Loh Princess Michael of Kent intended to visit Vienna & the the ball, but finally had other plans. What a pity she didn't come - her jewellery is so impressive & her way of wearing them so creative!

: Karen, the Ocean Tiara of Princess Charlene
: came across my mind, I admit. How clever of
    : you ...
: P.S.: I noticed how the young ladies
: struggled with their high tiaras through the
: opening polonaise and felt somewhat sorry
: for them ... 'suffering' in the name of
    : beauty

: I'm not a fan of this tiara, it does
: remind me of a pageant tiara. I can see
: though, how it would sparkle in the lights
: and the young women's dark hair would show
: off the tiara. It almost could go along with
    : Charlene's Ocean necklace/tiara. Thanks for
    : posting this event Veronika.

: THE PRINCE AND THE EMPRESS - 'Sissi's Blue
    : Dreams'
: Swarovski, a prince, and memories of an
: empress are adding sparkle to a grand ball
    : tradition.
: Jewelry designer Prince Dimitri of
: Yugoslavia, who first demonstrated his flair
    : for creating fabulous
: diadems in 2012, is responsible for the
: design of this years tiaras. His latest
    : piece was inspired
: by Austrian high nobility: I have always
: loved Winterhalters portrait of Empress
    : Elisabeth with
: diamond stars in her hair. I went one step
: further in the design for my latest piece.
    : My thought
: was that if Sisi were around today, the
: stars she would dream of would probably be
    : blue. Sparkling
: blue crystals will therefore reflect the
: light of what is probably the most beautiful
    : ballroom
: in the world, proving once more that
: Swarovski crystal is just as important a
    : part of the Vienna
: Opera Ball as the waltz.

    : I don't care for the star-design in the
    : first picture very much
: (reminds me of a beatuy pageant) but seeing
: the tiara today at the grand opening
: (of our state ball) changed my mind to some
: extent. I looks wonderful on dark haired
: ladies - pity they didn't change the
: colour of the velvet at the base.
