I see that the pope is eschewing red shoes, and is wearing what look like black boots.
I am beginning to wonder whether bejeweled heads at the papal enthronement will be appropriate in the face of such simplicity and grace.

I doubt the Pope will : have to consider any thing about it. : : Well, in Máxima's case I wouldn't be : surprised to see a diamond or two. : : --Previous Message-- : Well I for one would like to see a proper : grand Papal coronation, and I'm not even : particularly religious. Can you imagine the : splendor, royal ladies in black evening : dress and jewels and orders, with the three : consorts of Catholic Kings in white. : : Alas, those old traditions are swept aside. : This simple man will probably continue the : tradition of skipping a coronation and : instead have an outdoor event (daytime dress : and pearls) like his predecessors. : : : --Previous Message-- : I am not sure that will happen, perhaps some : more simple jewels. : His Holiness seemed to me like a very down : to earth person, and it doesnt seem likely : that there will be any kind of ostentantion. : He appeared wearing His white clothes only, : no red velvet cape with fur. And I must say : I entirely agreed with that. : As an european I must confess I never eard : of Cardinal Bergoglio before, but I was : completely won by His humbleness and : simplicity. I believe He will be a wonderful : and much loved Pope, and a good shepard for : His people. : May God bless His Holiness. : : : : --Previous Message-- : Exciting! Hope to see some nice royal jewels : during the inauguration! : : HM Queen Paola of Belgium during a visit to : the Vatican. : : : : : : : : :
