So if these emeralds went from Cathrine the Great to the Marquis of Lothian and then to Albion, where do the Devonshires fit in? Does anyone have photos of any Duchesses of Devonshire wearing these emeralds? I have googled Devonshire & emerald and have found that they do own an enormous uncut emerald of 1383 carats which was acquired by the 6th Duke (Georgiana's son)and which has been displayed at the Natural History Museum. But I cannot find anything about an emerald necklace & tiara --Previous Message-- : The necklace and earrrings were apparently : given by Catherine the great to an ancestor : of the Marquis of Lothian, who sold the : necklace and earrings some years ago.
