From the Defence department FAQ: The new distinctives are created by using the orb, the sceptre and the sword-of-state from the so-called Rijksinsigniën (State Regalia), but where is the crown? Answer: the crown is a much used symbol for military and civil distinctives (for an example on police uniforms). Out of esthetical considerations the crown has been left out.
Koninklijke Begeer will also create the new chiffres for the King's Household, which will be a crowned W and A, to be worn by Court dignitaries. The design is not made public yet.
