One question I've always had with regard insignia and such, is who designs them, is it "The Palace", or does the recepient decide and then that motif or monogramme then gets formalized? WA could have countless permutations; means of interlacing the letters, the scale and font... how to decide! --Previous Message-- : From the Defence department FAQ: The new : distinctives are created by using the orb, : the sceptre and the sword-of-state from the : so-called Rijksinsigniën (State Regalia), : but where is the crown? Answer: the crown is : a much used symbol for military and civil : distinctives (for an example on police : uniforms). Out of esthetical considerations : the crown has been left out. : : Koninklijke Begeer will also create the new : chiffres for the King's Household, which : will be a crowned W and A, to be worn by : Court dignitaries. The design is not made : public yet. :
