I seem to recall media comments after HRH first wore the set that it was a wedding present from a "family friend". I am not sure of the accuracy of this comment.
On their recent tour they went to Malaysia - including the province of Sabah in eastern Malaysia which is not part of Brunei. It is a very good pickup with the piece worn by the Crown Princess. I am wondering the set was a wedding present from the Sultan of Brunei?
