We also thought for decades that Princess Irene owned the Peacock Parure. It seems that only the ruby earrings she wore with it are hers. Another option could be that she put the parure and possibly other pieces in the family foundation with the requirement that the foundation would remain open for her descendants.

As for not owning anything else. The late Duke was financially not well off. Princess Margarita is at least on paper not very wealthy (as she seems unable to pay maintenance for her ex-husband). We have no idea about the worth of Carlos and Jaime. Irene inherited a major amount of money from her parents and Carolina married into one of the wealthiest families of our country. So those two women are at the very least more than comfortably off.

The fact that we don't see major jewels on them and only the occasional piece from the ON-collection does not mean they don't have anything. It may just be that they prefer to keep them under lock and key. Not being seen as very wealthy is easier and safer.

: I thought it was pretty common knowledge that
: the B-P have nothing left. Why else would
: Irene's children and most poignantly the
: spouse (Annemarie GvW) of the Head of the
: House of Parma be borrowing even the
: smallest heirloom from the O-N foundation
: and Princess Irene and never a B-P piece?
: Did they for over 40 years misplace the key
    : of their own vault?

: We don't know if they don't own any tiara's
: anymore. All we know is that the one Irene
: wore for her wedding was stolen and the
: family has been paid for their loss.
: All three de Bourbon de Parme-brides have
: worn a different tiara (Margarita the ears
: of wheat, Annemarie the pearl setting of the
: emerald tiara and Carolina the Laurel tiara)
: so we might very well see Viktoria with
: another one. It's clear it won't be one of
: the larger tiara's (the Ruby, Saphire,
: ornate Pearl of Stuart) but that leaves a
: large number of options from within the ON
: collection. The bride seems to have done
: very well careerwise so maybe she or her
: parents (no idea about their financial
: status) might have bought or inherited one.

: I suspect that as a new member of the
    : extended
: family she can't simply pick one from the
: Royal House vaults. At best she will be
: offered a choice between two or three modest
: and thus appropriate tiaras from the Dutch
: Royal House collection. This line of the
: B-Ps do not own any tiaras anymore.

: Does the groom's father's family still have
: that beautiful tiara that Irene wore so
: fabulously? In my opinion, that would be an
: excellent choice if still possible.

: Congratulations to the happy couple!
    :
: So we can look forward to another tiara
: bride in october. I wonder which of the
: Dutch tiaras she will choose to wear.
