    The peacock motif has been used in jewellery for some time. Empress Eugenie certainly possessed a peacock feather brooch, and the motif was used for aigrettes. The bracelet form, however, is more modern, which would indicate a more "recent" acquisition.

    I would suggest that the use of the terms "historic" for a piece which is neither particuarly well known nor tangibly associated with the House of Grimaldi might be an assumption on the part of the reporter with little knowledge of royal jewels and even less with the variations of style from era to era.
