Hi, if you mean me or my blog by "the reporter", the term "historic" was used by the Palace in their confirmation, I used the exact description they used and they stressed that the set is historic and belongs to the House of Grimaldi, If it was my own assumption I would have stated so. I'm quite surprised that this design is "historic", too, but I guess the Palace knows better!

: The peacock motif has been used in jewellery
: for some time. Empress Eugenie certainly
: possessed a peacock feather brooch, and the
: motif was used for aigrettes. The bracelet
: form, however, is more modern, which would
    : indicate a more "recent"
    : acquisition.
    :
: I would suggest that the use of the terms
: "historic" for a piece which is
: neither particuarly well known nor tangibly
: associated with the House of Grimaldi might
: be an assumption on the part of the reporter
: with little knowledge of royal jewels and
: even less with the variations of style from
    : era to era.

: I am sorry but why do we believe the small
: piece of information that they supposibly
    : confirmed is true???
    :
: Most likely they do not want to report if it
: was recently purchased..so they said
: "belongs to the house of Grimaldi"
: which is a very vague response...
    :
: How many royal houses even with the most
: glitziest massive jewels owned parure
    : anything remotely resembling this
    : "old" parure...it's not old..look
: at any royal houses going back 50-100
: years...no one wore jewels in this fashion
: and with multiple colored gems... This is a
: recent design mimicking old style...I call
    : it a 'feather' style
