I'm not convinced. Counting from the centre we see three sapphires, On the second one a diamond pendant is attached that looks remarkably like the spikes of the tiara, with one difference; It has e little knob at the end. The neclace-tiara does not have the elements.

I find it difficult to believe that, however romantic the idea is, that the king bought such an expensive item for his spouse, as he cannot have an immense fortune in his name, Mummy still has the money and only since the death of her parents. Remember that her father bought WA & M a silver canteen for their wedding, because she complained to him not to be able to afford it?

Of course, it might have been a gift from dome oilsheik..

: I don't think this necklace is made from
: either Queen Emma or Queen Wilhelmina's
: saphire parures. It's too substantial for
: costume jewelry and may have been a gift to
: the queen or a purchase of her. We have seen
: her with other new pieces (the diamond and
: ruby floral earrings in the Carribean).
: Maxima clearly is a woman who enjoys
: jewelry. As a mother of three daughters she
: may consider new purchases as investments.
: Her husband is still very much in love with
: her so he might very well be using his
: increased income for some additions to her
    : private collection.

: Certainly not costume jewelry. To me it
: seems part of the Mellerio parure,
: re-arranged. The saphires seem to have the
: same colour as the ones in the parure and
: they appear the same shape. Also the diamond
: thingies between the saphires bear some
: resemblance to the spikes of the tiara.

: I am not so impressed anymore.

: And rather impressive I might add...
: Looks a bit like the Swedish saphire /pearl
    : necklace.
: Although I haven't seen it in a realy good
: shot yet, I am amost shure it contains
    : family-saphires.
: Maybe these are restparts of the broken up
    : 1901 weddinggift-parure?
