Regarding being exceptional, the British have had a sytem of different badges of service for each of a King and Queen together. There are many examples. But currently Britain has only the reigning Queen. I am not aware of any badge of service issued by the Duke of Edinburgh. --Previous Message-- : With the arrival of King Willem-Alexander, a : new so-called chiffre , a gold-with-emaille : sign worn by courtiers, was designed: : : : : The monthly magazine Vorsten Royale : discovered that courtiers wear another : chiffre when they are escorting Queen : Máxima: : : : : According to Vorsten Royale this is : exceptional: they claim that no any other : partner of an European monarch has an own : chiffre worn by courtiers.
