Very interesting, Erik. Is this information based on the style of the brooch?
I always have doubted that the brooch was made for Princess Amalia since René Brus states that Amalia wore Queen Anna's parure while it only later was altered for Prince Hendrik's second wife Marie. Yet the drawing of Marie's parure which Brus adds (although with incorrect caption, I guess) shows a parure completely different from the Orange-Nassau jewels. (Brus, pp. 74-78). Hendrik died one year later. So the sapphire jewels as we know them now were most likely all created for Emma and perhaps Wilhelmina.
