TMN - I'd like to point out that so much of the jewellery is the Queen's private property and what she does with it would be totally up to her.
Broadly speaking, jewels that are heirlooms of the crown would not be appropriate, yet, for either Camilla or Catherine, I would think.
Some of the continental royal houses have jewellery held in trusts or foundations and I suppose those have their rules, possibly overseen by the reigning lady, or king's lady. Just guessing here.
