Such a beautiful picture of Queen Amélia to start the day, thank you Lorenzo!
According to my notes this superb dog colar was made by Cartier and had diamonds and saphires. According to the portuguese royal jewels book it seems that the Quuen wore this dog coller at her husbands enthronement, but there are no photos of it. Like many of Queen Amélia's jewels its whereabouts is unknown, and there are no records on what happened to it...
Funny how the Queen is wearing it with her emerald jewels. Since the purpose was a black and white photo it seemed not to matter much and looked fantastic . If we look carefully we can see a tiny diference in the shades of the stones.
Dona Amélia is wearing some of her most beautiful jewels.
The emerald tiara was part of her parents wedding gift to her, there was also a matching emerald necklace and 3 small brooches/pins. These jewels were inherited by the Queens nephew Henri Count of Paris, who sold them.

A very young and beautiful Pss Amélia is wearing her emerald wedding gift jewels in the early days of her marriage

The emerald brooch was a wedding gift from her uncle the Duke of Aumale. At some point the brooch "lost" its lower part, the small Diamond chains and emerald drops, wich I believe were worn separatelly by the following owners. This brooch was latter inherited by Dona Amélia's youngest sister Infanta Luisa. It passed on to her daughter Doña Esperanza Of Brazil, who gave this jewel (and others) to her daughter Pss Maria da Glória when she married Pc Alexander of Youguslavia. Pss Maria da Glória sold it in auction in 1981. This jewel was again on auction in 1999, it was bought by an anonymous buyer.

I don't remember where I found this pic but here Dona Esperanza is wearing the emerald brooch at the wedding of her daughter Maria da Glória

The long pearl sautoir was a favourite piece of Dona Amélia, who wore until her later years. It was a gift from her husband in 1897, and has 661 pearls and a gold clasp.
