That has always been my theory. The relationship between Queen Fabiola and princess Lilian was very bad. Fabiola never seemed to me someone to hold a grudge or to be vindictive but hearing stories of Lilian's own children make me think that she was a very difficult woman. Fabiola probably left most of the pieces she got from her father in law, but worn by Lilian in the vaults. The only piece she did wear was the grand tiara of her mother-in-law that was never worn in it's full version by Lilian. --Previous Message-- : True, I have also read about a big & long : discussion in 1953 between King Leopold III : & his daughter Princess : Joséphine-Charlotte. : : Joséphine-Charlotte wanted to have the : emerald-diamond choker-bracelet-tiara that : was given to Queen Astrid when she gave : birth to her. : : I read in the newspaper that it took a few : weeks before Leopold (or Lilian) wanted to : give that jewel to Joséphine-Charlotte. : : Considering that Joséphine-Charlotte owned : it since 1953, that would mean that the : emerald-necklace tiara is still in : possession of Fabiola who also didn't want : to wear it. : : :
