    Re: Prince Jean Archived Message

Mrs Hélène Vestur attended the wedding of the Princes of Luxembourg. Grand Duchess Josephine Charlotte did not like her. The only one she loved is Princess Sybilla , she borrowed once her scroll tiara.

Princess Margaretha of Liechtenstein is very very close to Queen Fabiola . Her first born son died short after his birth and is buried in the Church of Laeken as our Royals.
As close Niece she received earrings. Well seen Hans !

: Thank you for your answer Johan. I'm sad to
: know about that, Pc Jean seems like a nice
: quiet person. I wonder if his first
    : "unauthorized" marriage also
: contributed to the situation you refer...
: Looking in my archives I have no photo of
: Helene Vestur wearing a tiara. During the
: many years of their marriage was she never
: present at any tiara event of the Grand
: Ducal house? I remember that after their
: separation she was invited for some events
: to celebrate GD Henri and GD Maria Teresa
    : 25th wedding anniversary in 2006.

: I get the impression Jean is considered the
: black sheep of the Nassau-family. Why Diane
: has no access to the family-pieces may have
: to do more with his standing in the family
    : rather than his wife.

: I understand your point Henri, but I'm
: thinking that perhaps Queen Fabíola will
: pass on her major jewelry (the spanish
: diadem, the aquamarines, the pearls, her
: small diamond tiara...) to the new Queen,
: and perhaps she will give some of her
: smaller jewels to her nieces (in-law) as a
: gesture of her affection. Perhaps to the
: ones she feels closer, I don't know.
: I would doubt if Pss Marie-Christine would
    : get any jewel.
: On Diane de Nassau née De Guerre I also have
: some doubts...This very elegant and
: distinguished lady is Ps Jean's second wife,
: and Queen Fabíola, as we know, is a strict
: catholic, I don't know how she reacted to
    : this second marriage.
: It puzzled me a bit why Diane Countess of
: Nassau wore a tiara privately owned by her
: sister-in-law, Pss Sybilla, at the
: prewedding event of Ps Guillaume's wedding.
: She looked splendid (to me one of the most
: elegant ladies) but since she is the wife of
: Ps Jean why did she not wore a tiara from
    : the Grand-Ducal collection? I believe there
: were still several that could be worn by
: her...perhaps she didn't like them. Is it
: known how fluid is her relation with her
    : husband's family?

: Interesting but also somewhat 'sad' maybe
: because this means that Queen Fabiola's
: jewelry collection will now become
: fragmented instead of presented as a nice
: collection for the new Queen.
    :
: By the way, Princess Margaretha von and zu
: Liechtenstein is sort of niece-by-marriage
: to Queen Fabiola: she is a daughter to her
: late sister-in-law. Queen Mathilde has no
    : links to Queen Fabiola's family-in-law. I am
: curious to learn of more 'nieces' will be
    : spotted with Fabiola's jewels...
