There are a few variations about the history of the engagement ring (which is the truth I do not know).
A: The 2 big stones were family jewels from his family (That were mounted into a ring by XXXX).
B: The 2 big stones were family jewels from his family (That were mounted into a ring by Van Cleff & Arpels).
C: The entire ring was bought at Van Cleff & Arpels at Place Vendôme with family money from his family.
D: The entire ring was bought at Van Cleff & Arpels at Place Vendôme with his own money.
E: The entire ring was bought at XXXX with family money from his family.
F: The entire ring was bought at XXXX with his own money.
Some who have other variations?
P.S. Bjarne does not mention that the engagement ring was from Van Cleff & Arpels in his book (I know he has heard the story of V C & A as well) so perhaps he could not find any sources to back up this story?.
