Vincent, thank you very much for your information on the provenance of the necklace, it was much appreciated.
You also mention that it seems Pss Isabelle and Pss Françoise did not inherit anything from their mother, but according to the informations released to the press at the time of the engagement of the present Duke to Miss Isabel de Herédia, the cabochon rubi engagement ring was an heirloom from the Duke's maternal grand-mother Princess Elizabeth. I am not even sure if the Duke or his fiancée mentioned it on some of the many interviews they gave in those days. I'm not stating the ring was inherited, it could have been a gift during her lifetime, but it does seem that at least one jewel from Pss Elizabeth passed to her daughter Dona Maria Francisca and then to the present Duchess.

Dress, wedding presents (jewels) : ceremony... And so on... Princess Elisabeth : was a very gifted letter writer. She had : style. her letters are funny, very well : written (in french of course). As the war : was going on at the time, letters were : written very often. : The funny thing about the Orléans Bragance : jewels ( i mean those belonging to princess : Elisabeth) is that it seems princess : Isabelle (Comtesse de Paris) and princess : Françoise (duchess of Braganza) did not : inherit anything from their mother. I guess : that the idea was that as they had married : into royal families, they would be given : jewels by their husbands. And in a way, they : were. :
