Empress Marie Feodorovna also wore, on occasion, a pin to hold the front of her tiara in place. It helps stabilize the heavier ones. to wear a bracelet at the base would make no sense at all; it would be difficult to anchor and serve no purpose at all. --Previous Message-- : : Thank you Barbara. I recall we have : discussed this. : : Roberts makes no mention of it but does say : the tiara was also to be worn as a necklace. : When it was photographed as a necklace , : for what I believe was Queen Alexandra's : illustrated inventory, it contained 77 bars : and 16 of the smallest have since been : removed. : What a stunning necklace that would have : been! : : : --Previous Message-- : A long time ago, we discussed the little : 'pin', Queen Alexandra seems to wear at the : base of her fringe tiara. While searching : for serpent jewellery for another threat, I : 'stumbled' over these two pictures of Queen : Alexandra. For me it seems like HM wore the : little bracelet attached to the base of the : fringe tiara. So no pin, but a bracelet. : : : : If this is already known, my apologies for : repeating . : : :
