The story about the brooch being a present from the Zorreguitas is unsubstantiated. Truth is we do not know the provenance of many jewels the Queen and/or Princess Beatrix are wearing. Some might have been gifts, acquired by the royals themselves or perhaps created from stones or pieces lingering in the vaults.
