I agree with you, Marianne! I seem to remember that Queen Ingrid once described Princess Benedikte as "the most royal of my daughters", and it is hard for me to imagine, that the Princess would be unaware of the true story behind such an important family heirloom. I just checked what Bjarne Steen Jensen has to say on the matter in his book "Juvelerne i det danske kongehus". Bjarne does not come to any definite conclusion, but finds it most likely (p. 113) that the tiara was a gift to Queen Ingrid from her grandfather Gustav V. Now, Bjarnes assumption would seem to be underpinned by Princess Benedictes recent statements. --Previous Message-- : Dear Claes & Martina, Princess Benedikte : herself told this to the reporter( our Royal : Roger ) and the info can be found on page : 28 of this latest issue of the mag (nr. : 3/2014). : Since Queen Margrethe knows her jewels : 'inside out' I assume her younger sister : also knows her bit : : --Previous Message-- : Thank you, Marianne! : I have read several times, that Ingrid : inherited the tiara form her grandmother : Victoria. So obviously that was wrong and : the King inherited the tiara. : : : : :
