I'll bet my bottom dollar, as the expression has it, that candles would breach all health, safety, and fire regulations these days. And we can recall the fire there of years ago. That Hall is the replacement, and magnificent it is. But the diamonds sparkle anyway. --Previous Message-- : The Daily Mail is an awful rag, but I must : give credit where credit is due: they have : fantastic pictures. : : I think the Duchess of Cornwall was the most : nicely bejewelled of all guests. Just : because I like her all-diamonds jewels : better than the green emeralds of the Queen : or the Princess Royal's blue aquamarines. : There is such a difference between the : "Vladimir" with pearls or with : emeralds. The first version is elegant, the : second appears so chunky, clunky, what is : the word. : : The venue was stunning, amazing long table. : My only recommendation would be: use real : candles and not those lampshades, nothing : beats the light of hundreds of real candles : and they have a super effect on diamonds: : they will unfold all their splendour in the : gentle and moving lights of candles. : : : : :
