Bryce - this might be the double flower you had in mind? I think the two principal stones are sapphires but the description also mentions ruby, which I can't see. Edit: it could be ruby in the centre of the pink sapphire.
--Previous Message-- : Joye : A couple of ruby brooches that you did not : mention were the Tudor Rose and the York : Rose Bracelet (the center flower can be worn : as a brooch). I do not think that QEII has : worn it this way but Queen Mary did. : Other brooches with rubies in them would be : the basket of flowers (birth of Prince : Charles), the bowl of fruit, the South : African peacock, the blue and pink double : flower I think has some rubies in the : centre. HM was given a brooch rendering of : the Province of Ontario coat of arms which : has 11 rubies (18 emeralds and 172 diamonds : set in platinum). : : This brooch may as well have rubies but I : have not been able to identify it. : : Hope this helps with your list. : : Cheers! : Bryce : : : : : --Previous Message-- : Qatar 1996 gift during State visit - Arab : Dow : br : : : : : --Previous Message-- : : While checking for info on The Crown Rubies, : I found that Fields wrote that QEII had 6 : ruby brooches. : : No. 1 modern ruby br commissioned by QEII : : : : : : : :
