Rundell, Van Kempen then Schurmann Archived Message

Perhaps I was not clear. In 1879 a parure was created for Queen Emma using O-N House Diamonds. Also Princess Wilhelmina's Rundell Tiara was used as this contained House Diamonds. The Laurel leafs from that tiara were apparently spared and reused by Van Kempen. In 1898 Schurmann broke up the Van Kempen Parure that Queen Wilhelmina was wearing in this photo from 1897. Perhaps he only broke up the necklace and stomacher. The rest of the stones came from the collection of House diamonds.
The tiara by Van Kempen looked very light - one can see the wires of the structure - and it is very well possible it had been created in such a way that different parts could be used individually hence the upper part and the Laurel leafs on her bodice. I think the large Sunburst would have made a splendid brooch as well.

: I believe once a fellow poster, Lucas(?)
: once wrote that he saw the upper part (the
: stars and upright pearls) on an exhibition
: in the 1990's, probably around 100 Years
: Queens of Orange (1990) or 100 Years Queen
    : Wilhelmina (1998).
    :
: The Van Kempen Parure seems to have been
: dismantled to make the new Parure with the
: House Diamonds for the Investiture of the
: new Queen (1898). I am not sure if the
: Rundell & Bridge Diadem was part of this
: parure? On the picture above Queen
: Wilhelmina seems posing with parts of the
: Rundell & Bridge diadem. Maybe the
: picture was made before the definitive
: break-up of the Rundell & Bridge Diadem?
: At the other hand, the diamonds from the
: laurel leaf part seems not too substantial
: 'worth' a breaking up to create the massive
: new Parure with the House Diamonds. Maybe
: Máxima will surprise us once again with
    : showing long-not-seen jewels?
