There is a clearer version of this photo on the cover of "The Queen and the Commonwealth" by Trevor McDonald and it does not look like the Pearl Triangle. There is one large pearl and three distinct smaller pearls above it.

: My first thought was that it was the
: "triangle pearl" brooch that LDMJ
    : mentions.....but upon further review, I am
: not 100% convinced that it is.
    :
: It is so hard to get a sense of it due to
: the poor quality of the image, with the
: glare and the blending into the pattern of
    : HM's dress.
    :
: But I think that triangle pearl brooch has
: more depth than this seem to have and I am
: also curious about the dark
    : "flecks" noticeable mid-brooch.
: These may just be effects of lighting etc.??
    :
: In the meantime, it is a nice picture the
: HM's pearl earrings with the diamond studs
: on the top and bottom. I don't think we
: have seen these worn for some time now.
    :
    : Cheers!

: She wore it for the first time in 1952 so
    : too
: early to have come from Queen Mary.

: Might this brooch be able to be identified
    : please?
    :
: I think it is this brooch of unknown
    : provenance
