I hadn't heard that information at all previously? Did you "hear" that from an official source, Brock? Did I miss that posting? I hadn't been aware that this had come to light and the brooch is still referred to as the Irish Blossom on at least two other jewels sites. (Royal Forums: QEII Brooches and also on "From Her Majesty's Jewel Vault") It could get confusing if it has another name only on this board.
--Previous Message-- : That is basically it. : : I have confirmed that it was a : "private" gift to the Queen to : mark her Diamond Wedding Anniversary in : 2007, but as it was deemed a private gift it : would not be confirmed from whom it was : given. : : --Previous Message-- : Could you elaborate on the origin of this : brooch please? : : --Previous Message-- : Are we back to the "Irish : Blossom"? : I thought we "officially" (well, : as officially as we can get around here) : decided to re-christen this the Diamond : Wedding Anniversary/Diamond Wedding brooch : once the origin became clear. : : --Previous Message-- : HM is wearing the Irish Blossom today, to : open : the flower marked named in her honour, in : France. It is on a beige bucle jacket, and I : feel it is a bit lost, but still pleased to : see it being worn. : : : : : : http://www.gettyimages.co.uk/detail/news-photo/britains-queen-elizabeth-ii-waves-as-she-arrives-at-the-news-photo/450212504 : : : : : : : : :
